June round-up
June was a thrilling month for the team at Matthew Cox. Alongside the usual rhythm of realising beautiful commissions for our clients, we had some special highlights.
The beginning of the month saw the confirmation of our B Corp verification. We'd been working hard with our B Leader for months, so when we received the news that we'd been verified with a score of 102.3, we were delighted! Luckily, we had a bottle of Nyetimber in the workshop fridge, so we duly popped and shared it 24 ways!
Later in the month, our current and brilliant apprentice, Georgia, lifted the newcomer apprentice of the year trophy at Rycotewood Furniture Centre! This was followed by a trip to Belgravia for the Pimlico Road party, where we were proud to see Cox London rival Jamb for the most raucous party on the street reputation.
Finally, the month finished with our team hosting a creative fete for local mental health charity, MindSpace. We set up therapeutic craft stalls from wooden spoon carving to sashiko stitching and haiku poetry-writing in the stunning environs of MindSpace wellness garden.
The remainder of the afternoon was spent paddling up the river Nene on SUP boards, kayaks and Canadian canoes. The team from Adventure Nene piqued our competitive spirits with their tips, tricks and challenges. They also drew our attention to the nature thriving in the river and on the banks.
