Giving back is important to everyone at Matthew Cox. We're committed to volunteering for causes close to our heart and sharing a percentage of our profits with charities. We work with the following charities with whom we have shared goals.
MindSpace Stamford is a local charity which provides mental health support through activities, workshops, meet-ups and providing fitness classes like boxing, netball and yoga. We've raised funds, offered team members' time and volunteered to tidy up the MindSpace garden in recent months. We hope to see this partnership blossom over time as mental health is a subject close to the team's heart and it's an important topic in many of our team's monthly 1-2-1s.
The Sylva Foundation is an environmental charity helping trees and people grow together. Their work encompasses two goals that are important to us – biodiversity and gender equality. As we use a substantial amount of FSC timber, mostly European and not British, we'd like to help Sylva improve British woodland. And as a company committed to fairness, we support their pioneeting work around gender equality in woodworking workshops. They organise events, courses and research to promote their goals, which we wholeheartedly support.
Repair Cafe is a global charity with a local touch. They promote and inspire circularity through community repair cafes. As well as saving objects, they provide community hubs and purpose for their volunteers. Given our commitment to our 100-year plan, we know how hard it is to make repair commercially viable. We have huge admiration for this charity and it's work in communities globally.

Volunteering days are popular with the charity and with our team members.
Giving back begins at home. We encourage empathy and altruism within the company and within our community.
